"Four years ago, I released a mix on Nowruz for the new year, and I listened back to it as a prompt. March 2020 and March 2024 are enveloped by unimaginable displacement and loss, and we are called on to plant and water seeds of resistance as we move into spring. While this mix features my classic deranged three minute blends, they’re contrasted by complex syncopation and seismic switch-ups that more accurately create a container for the unknowns of the new year. Within this mystery, there’s a hyperactive optimism, reflected by the dark but celebratory second half of the mix. Expect acid, dabke, breaks, and the usual genre-busting rumblings."
