Carmela is a Latin American cultural and musical collective based in the Netherlands, building experimental spaces for music, art, and community. Rooted in the diaspora, the project tells our stories in our own voices, bridging Latin America and Europe.

After a year in Amsterdam's event and cultural circuit, Carmela presents its debut compilation: eleven tracks from Latin American artists based in the Netherlands and beyond, moving from percussive club rhythms to ambient, downtempo textures.

Diversity, migration, identity, and resistance sit at the heart of this work. Volumen Uno is the sound of this first year: coming together, taking care of one another, celebrating who we are.

Solemn Alma is the new track by Edu Montoya from Honduras, and his debut on our label. Think of a long-gone event where the memory still stays fresh in your mind. Giegling-esque.

Nikita twists the whole song around, making sure it brings the heat of the night straight to the dance floor.
