Tynwald has approved changes to how the Island's Minimum Wage is calculated and reviewed.

It means any future alterations to the rate of pay will be based on Median Earnings, while a previous commitment to align the rate with the Living Wage will be abandoned.

Do you know a teenager or young adult living with serious allergies or at risk of anaphylaxis? 

They're being invited to attend a free allergy and anaphylaxis awareness session at Keyll Darree on the Noble’s Hospital site this afternoon (Wednesday 2 July, 4:30pm – 6pm).

It will be led by Tracey Dunn, Education and AllergyWise Manager at Anaphylaxis UK, in partnership with Donna Colligon, Paediatric Nurse at Noble’s Hospital.

A new bus route including a service to Cregneash will operate year-round seven days a week.

The 8S service will connect Peel and Foxdale with the south of the Island, including the Sound via Cregneash.

It will also serve the Airport, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary.

Breaking the news on the Mannin Line this afternoon, Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood said she hopes the route will be up and running soon.

Hundreds of people are being invited to dash across Peel promenade later this summer...dressed as dinosaurs.

The organisers of the 'world's largest unofficial T-rex run', which took place on Douglas promenade last year, have announced they're taking the event out west.

So-called 'T-Fest' is the brainchild of Expedition Limitless, which is aiming to raise £200,000 in support of The Children’s Centre and Rebecca House Children’s Hospice.

Last year the group's efforts saw £111,000 donated to Manx Mencap.

Did you know 70% of people with dementia will go missing at least once?

A scheme that encourages carers, family and friends to provide useful information, which could then be used in the event of a vulnerable person going missing, is to be launched here on the Isle of Man.

Named for George Herbert - a war veteran of the Normandy landings who had dementia and sadly died whilst he was missing - the 'Herbert Protocol' initiative is gaining popularity across the British Isles.

It will officially be launched here next Tuesday 1 July (11am-2pm) during an event in Strand Street, Douglas.
