Maori broadcasting has emerged as one of the few Maori-specific initiatives to get funding under the coalition, with $48 million allocated over the next four years. Budget 2026 also saw deeper cuts to Te Puni Kokiri, the Maori Development Ministry and the agency dealing with treaty settlements.
