Heaven & Hell 1 Cor 15:50-51, 55; Psalm 23 Stephen Covey coined the phrase, “Begin with the end in mind.” The principle has been helpful for business, sports teams, families and faith. How we picture the end of life dramatically influences how we live today. But most people are unsure about the future. 74% of Americans believe in heaven while only 59% believe in hell. So what happens when we die? What is our final destination? Will we all live forever?

What if its True? Truth is hard to find sometimes. Our culture tells us that truth is relative: there is no such thing as absolute truth. But what if there was? What if we could find and understand ultimate truth? How would our lives be different if we knew the truth? Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” What if it’s true? Ex. 20:8-11The Rules Nobody likes rules. We rebel at the thought of someone limiting our freedom. We react at anyone’s attempt to control our behavior. Often times, we respond to God and his rules the same way. We see the Ten Commandments as a list of dos and don’ts. We sometimes see God as the Ultimate Rule Giver, and we miss the true purpose of his commands — to bring us joy! As the Psalmist declares, “The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes (Psalm 19:8).

Soul Food Most of us eat every day. We nourish our bodies with fresh fruits and vegetables, water, protein and much needed vitamins. It is hard to imagine going a day or a week without food. Yet sometimes we fail to nourish our souls. We get by with a fast “meal” or a quick sermon and we wonder why we are not growing spiritually, why our souls are so hungry. Join us as we learn to feed our souls.
