With the lauch of baseball season just around the corner, it was time to sit down and cover what tricks we have up our sleeve for the season to continue to further push the performance envelope both through methods in training as well as the structure needed to keep an edge at all times for competition.
-
MJ was the first to train on gameday... something to the best of the best always doing things differently.
Studying successful people, you notice certain trends and themes; ability to handle a high load, a joy to be around, love for what they do, love for others, and curiosity. Will Cossey is one of the guys you’ll be seeing more and more of in the world of bodybuilding and fitness over the next few years due to his exceptional qualities both as a person and as a bodybuilder.
-
Fun fact: Will actually went through a bodybuilding prep with nothing other than some help from the legend JT Pelkey on his posing a few weeks out. This guy is DEFINITELY going to be a different creature when he takes the stage this next time.
-
To contact Will, you can find him on instagram at willza.fitness or stop by Triad's Yukon location!
Finding and pursuing your purpose is the most challenging yet also the most rewarding journey an individual can take. It’ll bring the highest highs and the lowest lows. For the individual willing to ride the wave, life opens up. Chasing passion leads to a FULL life not just for the individual, but also for those that come in contact with them.
-
Alfonso Lopez is somebody who has been doing exactly that for years. Tune in today to hear one of the most inspiring personal journeys, BUT be warned… you’re not going to feel like continuing to go about life without purpose mindlessly wandering after listening to this episode.
Carson Propps has been a part of MAP since nearly the very beginning. He was a kid who had PLENTY of raw talent when he showed up, but over the course of the next two years of training in high school went on to break the barrier for first athlete to a 40" vertical jump at MAP (adding almost 10" to his jump while at MAP), running up a sub 1.0 30yd flying 10 yard sprint, and deadlifting over 500lbs. The traits required to do these feats, which we refer to as the Triple 3 at MAP due to how special it is, is what we believe set Carson Propps apart and allowed him to progress to such a high level in training. Following his time at MAP, Carson realized he truly just loved training; the process of it, the camaraderie it brings, and the joy experienced when you get past a sticking point. Although it was one of the hardest conversations to have when he decided to hang up the uniform as an athlete, he's still being just as impactful if not even more impactful now in the lives of those around him.
-
Consistent, disciplined, joyful, optimistic, curious; each of these words describe Carson to a T and set a foundation for him to be able to accomplish this at that age. Those same traits he built upon more throughout sport and training will be the same traits that will allow him to do incredible things throughout and after college as he enters into his career.
Winning opens up a door to some of the best experiences possible. When asked how it feels to have to sacrifice the things she has had to in order to gain the opportunities she has, Harlie had one quote that stood out “In the end I wouldn't want to be doing any other thing.”
-
Harlie is one of the up and coming softball phenoms here in the US as one of the top softball recruits in her class. Recently, we got the chance to sit down with her and get a huge overview on what it has taken for her to be in the position she currently is, the difficulties and joy of the triumphs that come with it, and the JOY that comes from the work paying off.
Chasing greatness BY taking care of others.
-
If there is one thing that stands out about Brandon Ellis it is his insane work ethic which is driven by his care for others. Brandon is the guy he wishes he would have had earlier on in his own personal fitness journey and somebody that inspires us at MAP to keep pursuing our best selves. In the midst of opening Unrivaled Barbell, Brandon went into prep for his first bodybuilding show transitioning over from the powerlifting world in which he is an accomplished lifter posting an EASY 1720lb Raw total in the 242lb weight class. It is impossible to not be a better, more fulfilled version of self just from spending a few hours with this guy!
-
If you need some inspiration, STOP what you are doing and LISTEN to this episode.

You can have the perfect program, optimal intensity, the biggest chip on your shoulder.... and still not be where you want. In training, competition, and life, the best times come from when your mindset and perspective are in the right place. The happier, more fulfilled person and athlete is always going to be the better person and athlete.

Teddy was Austin's FIRST training partner, taking him under his wing while each were fresh in their CrossFit journeys. Unbeknownst to Teddy at the time, that was also during the most difficult time of Austin's life up to that point. Teddy gave more than just help, he gave purpose and a bigger vision to a young 18 year old kid; writing his goal of then CrossFit Regionals on the board which he later on accomplished through all of the joys, struggles, confidence, and self doubt that pursuing a bigger goal brings.
-
When you have a dream in mind and take the actions necessary to bring it to fruition, it is just a matter of time before the dream becomes a reality. Along that journey comes the most fulfilling part of it all. It's never about the end, it's always about the present for those who truly achieve their goal. Tune in today to get more insights for increasing your performance in life and sport.

To win in the biggest game, the game of life, we have to walk through challenges presented to learn the lessons needed to take us to that next level. For Jaime, wrestling is the tool that has taught him the hardest lessons and also granted him the biggest triumphs. Jaime was the first ever conference finalist in the KCAC tournament for Friends University after his most successfully ran season and off-season. It is just a testament to how much hard work, smart work, and discipline truly can give you if you will pay the price for them.
-
As a Clinton alum, Jaime was just shy of a medal at the Oklahoma state tournament in high school which most people would have quit after. He instead went to work even harder, doubling down on himself to set a new standard and find HIS best.
-
It all starts with YOU. YOU get to choose how much work you want to do. YOU get to choose if you want to set a vision for yourself. YOU get to chase the goal. The wins and loses along that journey will take you exactly where you want to go, but YOU have to be willing to take the first step.
