#lyrics
Beneath a sky where silence sang,
A brilliant star through darkness rang.
Its light a flame in the desert’s breath,
A guide through life, a light in the dark.
With gifts in hand and hearts aglow,
We sought the One the prophets foretold.
Through endless sands and midnight chill,
The promise burned within us still.
Oh, how the heavens whispered His Name,
A child of glory, lying in a manger.
Through every step, the star held true,
To lead us where the Word breaks through.
We lay our crowns at the Saviour’s feet,
Gold for the King whose reign is sweet.
Frankincense for the prayers He'll hear,
And myrrh for the sorrow He’ll draw near.
In the hush of night, we saw the sign,
The hope of ages, the gift divine.
We came to Herod’s throne that day,
His shadowed halls in cold dismay.
A jealous king with a heart of stone,
He trembled at the news we’d known.
“Where is this King?” we dared to ask,
“Who bears the crown no hand can grasp?”
His cunning smile concealed his fear,
“Go find Him, then return Him here.”
Oh, how the star still burned above,
A beacon of God’s unyielding love.
Through palace schemes and earthly pride,
It led us where the Child resides.
We found the Child, so small, so bright,
The Holy One, the world’s true light.
No throne of gold, no royal parade,
Just peace and love in the straw He laid.
But in a dream, a voice was clear,
“Do not go back to Herod.
Take another road, through valleys deep,
The King is safe; His life God will keep.”
Oh, how the stars, the angels sing,
Protecting the life of the new born King.
Through paths unknown, we turned away,
To guard the gift of Christmas Day.
The star may fade, but love remains,
A fire eternal through joys and pains.
We carried His light into the night,
A flame unbroken, burning bright.
Now every road and every prayer,
Leads to the Child whose love we bear.
The journey ends where hearts are won,
At the feet of Christ, God’s only Son.
We lay our crowns at the Saviour’s feet,
Gold for the King whose reign is sweet.
