🇫🇷 Les globicéphales sont des baleines à dents qui peuvent atteindre une taille imposante de 5m. Leur organisation sociale est assez proche de celle des dauphins notamment pour des évènements dont l'explication pose encore beaucoup de question : les échouages.
Chaque année, l'archipel du Cap-Vert répertorie des échouages de cétacés, dauphins ou petites baleines. En général des pépenocéphales ou des globicéphales. L'origine de ces échouages demeure encore assez méconnue. Plusieurs hypothèses ressortent pour explication ces comportements.

🇫🇷 - La première des hypothèses nous vient d'un sens vital de ces animaux : l'acoustique. Ces animaux utilisent un "sonar" naturel pour se répérer et émettent de nombreux type de sons pour communiquer également. Une hypothèse consiste à expliquer que pour une raison ou une autre, un dérangement tiers ne permet plus à ces animaux de se s'orienter. Si l'on chercher du côté humain, cela pourrait provenir de bateaux à fort décibels, de propections pétrolières, ou de lâcher d'explosifs militaires. Perdus, ils finissent par s'échouer sans savoir où aller.
-Une deuxième hypothèse met en avant la solidarité extrême des ces animaux et peut-être la mort du leader ou de l'un des membres du groupe. L'ensemble des individus suivraient alors le membre mourant par solidarité.
- Enfin l'hypothèse de la maladie est également évoquée mais si elle s'avérait correcte, il semblerait que par les moyens médicaux de nos jours, il serait assez facile de la prouver.

🇫🇷 Quoiqu'il en soit, la semaine dernière encore un group de quelques dizaines d'individus s'est échoué sur l'une des plages de Boa Vista au Cap-Vert. Les restes des animaux ont fini par se décomposer en abandonnant quelques morceaux à la mer. Cela a pour habitude d'attirer d'autres animaux, les plus gros charognards de la mer, les requins. Les requins coursent très rarement des proies vivantes et dynamiques, comme le font les dauphins par exemples. Ce sont des fainéants, des charognards, qui préfèrent s'attaquer aux proies faibles ou mortes. Ils nettoient ainsi les océans des cadavres et de leurs maladies. UQuelques jours après l'échouage du groupe de globicéphales, je me suis rendu sur place et ai envoyé mon drone pour vérifier si certains requins avaient été attirés par les restes décomposés des cétacés. Je n'ai pas cherché très longtemps pour ttrouver les premiers squales. Deux gros requins tigres et certainement d'autres plus petits attendant leur tour, étaient déjà présents sur le site. Certains n'hésitant pas à risquer de s'échouer à leur tour pour récupérer les restes des globicéphales. Je vous laisse avec mes photographies de drone et une vidéo.
