On tonight’s program: Angry teachers descend on Tallahassee to protest a bill they say is “anti-education”; A proposal in the Legislature would ban transgender girls from competing on girls’ teams in school; A bill to shield businesses and health care providers from COVID-19 related lawsuits is charging ahead in the Florida Legislature; It’s contentious, it’s controversial and opponents assert nobody’s really asking for it to become law. But a bill placing upper limits on the amount of psychoactive T-H-C contained in medical marijuana is working its way ever closer to the floor of the Florida House; More state help could be on the way for local governments stressed by flooding connected to climate change; And lawmakers say giving seniors a tax break on items to help them live independently could save the state money.
