In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares an inspirational Sunday message titled,
Foolishness or Ultimate Truth?
Pastor Swanson begins his message with the following question. . .
Isn’t it interesting that one person can consider something the most important fact or thing in the world while another believes it to be complete foolishness. . . complete nonsense?
Men and women today have bought into the age-old philosophy of what we now call secular humanism which believes that the principles suitable for orienting a complete human life are present within each of us. . . that we have no need of an outside force or guidance.
It believes that human beings are little gods unto themselves.
Culture and society pursue such a position even though every human being knows deep within their soul that secular humanism. . . not the Christian faith. . . is what is complete foolishness.
- The fact that God would send His Son down to earth and that He would go willingly to the Cross does sound foolish.
- The fact that God would send His Son. . . the one who created the heavens and earth. . . to this world and allow His own Creation to nail Him to a cross is just illogical.
- The fact that God would send His only Son to die for a people who created their own problem boggles our minds.
But the amazing thing is this. . . that is exactly what God did!
