48 hours after Middlesbrough's eight-round shootout at Old Trafford, Billingham Stars had a marathon penalty shootout of their own Sunday night, beating Sheffield Scimitars 4-3 but only after seven rounds of shots, finished by Chris Sykes.

It ended a home-and-home series for the two sides, Sheffield winning on Saturday in South Yorkshire.  Here's the post-game reaction from both games.

Stars were holding their own against league-leading Solway Sharks for long periods on Sunday, but the Dumfries outfit - far from being all revved up with no place to go - came from behind in the second period and took control of the game.  

Billingham will hope it's not a case of 'out of the frying pan and into the fire' as they face Solihull next week as the playoff race hots up.
