The Port of Rotterdam is eyeing opportunities in India and the country’s Sagarmala Programme to develop the performance of its logistics sector.

Marc Aartsen, program manager International Port Projects, Port of Rotterdam, told an online media briefing: “The capacity of Indian ports needs to improve and that is also recognised by the Government of India. We see a lot of potential in the Indian market and we have assigned two Rotterdam representatives in India.

A US Navy investigation into the spread of the coronavirus aboard the Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier has found that about 60 percent of sailors tested had antibodies for the virus, two US officials told Reuters on Monday, suggesting a far higher infection rate than previously known.

In April, the Navy and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) started conducting serology tests to look for the presence of specific antibodies that are created by the immune system's attack response to the presence of the virus and remain in the blood for a period of time.

The attachment is signed by a group of leading port authorities from around the world and forwarded by Singapore with a request for circulation.

20 PAR members from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America came together on 24 April 2020 in Singapore to declare their commitment to ensuring their ports remain open amidst the current pandemic. The Declaration, initiated by Singapore, calls for port authorities to collaborate and share best practices in ensuring that port operations can remain undisrupted.
