Traci Kinsler, Commissioner at Marion Public Health, joined us to update everyone on the coronavirus situation here in Marion County this week. Traci addressed the surge in numbers at our prisons and what that means to community spread. She also talked about what the lessening of restrictions might mean for Marion residents and businesses beginning May 1,

Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer updated us on the current coronavirus situation in Marion City. He talked about what's happening at MCI, NCCI and the Multi-County Jail He also talked about community spread, due to the surge at the prison. The Mayor also talked about his thoughts in regards to walking back restrictions at City Hall and with city services and employees. The Mayor finished by talking about the Governor's order to keep schooling as distance learning only, through this term.

OhioHealth-Marion General Hospital Psychiatrist, Dr Shyamala Bheemisetty joined the podcast to talk about our stress and mental health during the Stay At Home order. Many are struggling and Dr. Bheemisetty offered some great advice on how to lower our stress, improve our mental health and help our kids during this time of isolation and togetherness.

It's National Library Week! Diane Watson joined us on the podcast to talk about what happening this week at the library to celebrate, even though we can't be together. Plus Diane talks about how the library is helping you stay connected to all their assets and adds some phone help to walk you through being able to find and consume the content.

On Wednesday, our 87th Ohio House State Representative Riordan McClain issued a statement regarding his feelings and opinions about getting, not only our district, but the entire state back to work. He also wants your ideas, thoughts and feelings about this issue and any other you may have.

She addressed why the numbers showed a surge in the past 5 days, she addressed our nursing homes and assisted care facilities and how they're doing, she also talked about the plan to bring us out of this situation. She also talked about a vaccine, what our life will look like until we get one and how our new normal will be just fine in the Marion community.

Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer took time to get everyone caught up on the coronavirus situation in the city. He had a message for all of us on where we are in this together, how virtual city council meetings are going, your tax deadline has been extended and he thanks our critical frontline workers, and officers, too.

Businesses of all sizes in the Marion area are all asking, "What is the PPP?" And, "What is the EIDL?" They're wondering if they qualify, they don't know where to turn next and they keep hearing other struggling business owners say it's been difficult to get themselves and their businesses set up. Jon Ferguson,from Fahey Bank, joined us to make it so much simpler.

Marion City Police Lt. BJ Gruber talks about how the MPD has adjusted to the changes ordered by the Health Department and State Government during the coronavirus outbreak. He talked about the community videos they've been putting out on social media, crime and how it's changed in the last month and how they're helping to enforce the State's "Stay and Home" order.
