Mark 8:27-38

This week we focus on Jesus' question to His disciples: "who do you say that I am?" and, ultimately, Peter's confession of Jesus as the Christ. What does it mean for Jesus to be the Christ? How might it look different to what they had been expecting?

Discussion Questions:

1. Why do you think the disciples struggled so much with the idea of a suffering messiah? Do you also struggle with this idea?
2. Is there a situation in your life right now where following Jesus might require laying something down? How can you be with Jesus in the midst of that situation, so as to become more like him?
