#Godlovestechnology. Technology is rooted in the creative nature of God and its appropriate use is a moral obligation in our stewardship of the earth. Technologies facilitate human actions, thereby shaping societies, and act like amplifiers of human aspirations, both good and bad. We worship God with sustainable and appropriate technologies that work well; that heal, not harm; that are concerned for the poor and for the environment; and that nurture relational values. Mark and Pete investigate how tech especially IT and the myriad #apps are working out for us and God today.

Regular music does not exist in the month of December as people get into the festive spirit by listening to Mariah Carey, Slade and all the other artists who only ever emerge in the run-up to Christmas. With less than a month to go until the announcement of the #Christmas number one on the #hotparade - taken by comedian LadBaby for the past three years - chart-topping duo Elton John and Ed Sheeran are in the top spot as the favourites for this year’s premier seasonal hit. Abba are also in the running after their recent return. Who should be Christmas number 1 in 2021?

Simply put, the answer is yes. You should definitely go to a pantomime!

Commonly known as “panto,” pantomime is a kind of comedy show that is a crucial part of British Christmas tradition.

Pantos are intentionally silly and over-the-top. All the characters wear outrageous costumes and the actors typically dress in “drag,” meaning that the men dress as women and the women dress as men. No matter what the story is, there is always a bumbling hero, a clumsy villain, and the promise that the hero will fall in love.

Audience participation is vital. The most famous line in all pantos is, “He’s behind you!” The audience yells this at the hero, trying to warn him that the villain is about to pounce on him. The hero always replies, “No he isn’t!”

The tradition of comedy theatre at this time of year goes back to the Victorian times. It was similar to modern day pantomime with an emphasis on comedy of the ‘slap-stick’ kind. But its origins were in political satire that poked fun at the establishment, often using characters that had many similarities with well-known and disliked nobles, or even the monarchy.

This is less the case now with pantomime taking modern stories and well-known tales and putting a humorous spin on them.

We need such escapist nonosesen more than ever.

About 5,000 public phone boxes around the UK will be protected from closure in areas of high accident rates or poor mobile signals, under plans drawn up by Ofcom, the regulator.

The communications watchdog said it would ban BT from scrapping payphones in areas where they were still needed, namely locations with poor mobile coverage, high accident or suicide rates, or higher-than-average use. There are about 21,000 call boxes across the country. Is this a good thing or are they just smelly death traps?

Voyage, Abba’s final studio album and their first in 40 years, began with a tweet and is causing a stir. But is it any good? Or was this a horrible legacy crushing mistake?
