4 reasons we need to open the economy now | The Mark Harrington Show | 4-16-20

The Associated Press published a crucially important story yesterday – but not for the reasons it may have intended.

While the report focuses on the effects of COVID-19 on pregnant women, who are being frightened into abortions, and the abortion facilities that service them, it lays out a compelling case for reopening the economy as soon as possible.

Today, Mark discusses with Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, why opening the economy is pro-life for the vulnerable unborn, and best to fight the COVID 19 virus.

Troy says there are four important reasons why reopening the country would save lives by reducing abortions:

• More women are likely to go through with their abortion decisions than before the pandemic.

Additionally, if businesses don’t re-open soon the economy may crash leading to massive economic hardship for low income women leading to abortion.

However, reports are also coming in from different parts of the country that abortions have been reduced during this crisis. In fact, to date all Texas’s twenty- four abortion centers are not committing surgical abortions because of Gov Abbott’s order (Planned Parenthood has appealed the order to US Supreme Court). As we know some of the centers may never re-open thus saving even more lives.

Additionally, thirty-three states have orders banning non-essential medical procedures. Twelve of those have directly required abortion centers to cease committing surgical abortions. So, many women may hear this news and not believe they can get an abortion thus saving their child.

Today, Mark interviews David Benham, Chairman of the Board of Cities for Life, about his arrest for peacefully counseling in front of a Charlotte, NC abortion facility. Since 1998, David has served in the pro-life movement in areas such as sidewalk counseling, community awareness, fundraising, church life networking, political support, and establishing the Cities4Life movement. David, whose father is a national pro-life leader, has witnessed everything that works and doesn’t work in the pro-life movement.

Ohio abortion centers are continuing to perform surgical abortion in defiance to Attorney General Dave Yost orders. Planned Parenthood claims that abortion is essential.

• Call Health Director Amy Acton at (614) 466-3543 and tell her to take action to #StopTheSpread at all Ohio facilities.

Calls to all the abortion facilities in Texas verified that they are not currently performing abortions. However, Planned Parenthood is now suing the state of Texas to keep killing babies and infecting clients with COVID 19.

During this crisis, the abortion industry continues to kill babies and risk the health and safety of the American people. But they don’t care. They only care about killing babies.

Corona Virus Silver Lining | The Mark Harrington Show | 3-19-20

Is abortion an elective or non-essential medical procedure? If so, then why do abortion mills remain open?

During the Trump Corona Virus press conference yesterday government officials asked health care providers to cease performing all elective medical procedures. Obviously, this should include abortion providers. But will it?

There could be a silver lining for the preborn in the Corona Virus tragedy. Here is some good news reported by the HuffPost: https://bit.ly/3bbMVg9

“If a provider gets sick, that’s one fewer person to provide care,” said the Very Rev. Katherine Hancock Ragsdale, president of the National Abortion Federation. “One or two people unable to show up can make the difference between a clinic being able to function or not.”

The medical community is being called on to treat Corona Virus patients. Will abortion centers close for the greater of dealing with this threat?

Abortion is not health care. Abortion is elective. Abortion is not necessary. Abortion is murder.

Pro-life Americans can have a life-saving response to the Corona Virus. Since, abortionists won’t stop killing babies we will keep saving them.

Thankfully, Created Equal has developed outreach programs that work during this crisis despite social distancing, and the closure of colleges, high schools and other gatherings.

Recently our team traveled to Florida for our annual spring Justice Ride. We took fifty high school and college students down for a week to conduct outreach at universities, high schools, and abortion facilities.

During our time at the abortion facility a mother came up to one of our team members and after talking to her and seeing the aborted baby photos displayed, she decided to keep her baby! At the end of the week 112 students personally told us they changed from pro-choice to pro-life.

Traditionally, the spring semester would be packed with outreach events on college and high school campuses. However, because of the shutdown, we are focusing our efforts on sidewalk counseling and our mass media projects. Irrespective of the Corona Virus, we have the means to reach the masses, continue to save babies, and change hearts and minds with our mass media education projects like Operation Overpass, Mobile Billboards, and Clinic Outreach.

The fact is, Planned Parenthood (PP) and the abortion industry are still killing children, and we need to double our efforts to save them during this time of national crisis.

Recently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to load the Corona Virus spending package with abortion funding. Clearly, the abortion industry will not “allow this crisis to go to waste.” We will take the necessary precautions to protect our health and the health of others, but we need to be proactive and deploy our assets to combat the hijacking of this emergency to advance abortion.
