It was the spring of 1989 and 21-year-old Texas pre-med student Mark Kilroy had been looking forward to spending his spring break vacation with friends along the United States-Mexico border. After a night of partying in the Mexican town of Matamoros, Mark and his friends headed back to Brownsville, Texas. At some point, the friends realized Mark wasn’t with them anymore, and no amount of searching turned him up. One month later, his remains would be found in a cauldron used in what appeared to be an occult ritual.
