Masaji Taira (Taira Masaji, 平良 正次) Hanshi is the 9th dan Chairman of the Okinawa Goju Ryu Kenkyukai.
A leading teacher of Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate Do, in the manner of the Jundokan dojo in Okinawa and of his teacher Ei’ichi Miyazato. He heads the Okinawa Goju Ryu Kenkyukai. He is best known as a researcher and practitioner of the bunkai of the Goju Ryu kata.

Eiichi Miyazato (宮里 栄一, Miyazato Eiichi, July 5, 1922 – December 11, 1999) was a leading Okinawan master of Goju-ryu karate.[1] He was a senior student of Chōjun Miyagi,[2] founder of the Goju-ryu style.
