On this week's episode of the Property Hustlers Show, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Kevin Huynh who is a principal broker with Empire Mortgage Group, as well as a seasoned Canadian real estate investor.

Kevin has been working as a mortgage broker for over a decade and he believes that by educating all of his clients, is the key to promoting financial literacy. With clients the goal is get the cash flow in real estate as low as possible so it stays in their realm of being able to afford it. When working with Kevin you won't have to worry about how much should your mortgage be because he will take you with him every step of the way to show you what mortgage rates today in Canada should look like.

A big question you often hear today is, is the real estate market crashing and if so what do you do? Kevin says his company has predictions about what's to come, they are piviting in an area that there are different mortgage products that allow them to go in a shorter term or be more flexible depending on where the market goes over the next 12 months. If inflation numbers continue to rise the bank will be raising interest rates inflation. However Kevin says that as interest rates are rising the inflationary number may have gone down.

Kevin found himself in Costa Rica and loving the scenery he wondered about buying real estate in Costa Rica. That is exactly what he did, Kevin saw Costa Rica real estate for sale and couldn't help but invest. When he isn't there he is using it as an Airbnb to make money on the side. When it comes to the question whether he is an active investor vs passive investor he has taken more of a passive role since he will be having to do remote real estate. In Canada you will find Kevin working in commercial financing and occasionally flipping houses in Ontario.

Kevin loves his job and is devoted to his company but ever since the birth of his children he has put his family first and is working on balancing work and family life.
