Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose cash about his stock pick of the day.

"It's cash at the moment, I think the rise in the stock markets have been overdone and we're yet to see the impact of the economic downturn come through."

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose British American Tobacco as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick is a rather conservative one and it is British American Tobacco which traditionally has been an exceptionally defensive counter and which I like. Obviously one can question the trend of tobacco but the reality is today it's exceptionally cheap, it trades at a 24 month forward PE over 8 which I think is an absolute bargain"

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose an exchange traded bond called the NF GOVI as her stock pick of the day.

"There is a nice exchange traded bond called the NG Govi, it is a way for retail investors to get a basket of government bonds at an attractive yield."

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose MTN as his stock pick of the day.

"The last time I was on your show my stock pick was MTN and it's going to be it again tonight. We analysed it in depth at our meeting this morning. Very encouraged as more and more people are using data, there's also a drop in voice, displaying exactly what we're seeing in habits around the world with more people going online and doing exactly what we're doing now."

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose Exxaro as his stock pick of the day

"It is a little bit of a gamble but I do think that the numbers work out quite favourably and in the case Exxaro. They obviously have stable thermal coals demand in place, albeit at lower prices than this time last year and of course has a fairly decent stake of about 21% in Kumba Iron Ore so again, one needs to take a view on the cycle and there certainly does appear to be commodity headwinds. But it does currently trade at forward PE of 4.4. It's got a dividend yield of over 10% and has very little debt on its books, their debt equity is about 20% and so one can't argue that that there's not value and at current levels."

Sam Mokorosi from Vunani Capital and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities talk to Business Day TV

Mokorosi said: "We are going to go contrarian at the moment, we think that MTN has been beaten down quite a bit over some time and one of the things that we are looking at is the oil price that is starting to claw its way out of a hole, and that is good for the Nigerian economy which MTN is quite exposed to. So with all the data usage around and people being in lockdown, we think that maybe it's time for MTN to rebound.

Shapiro said: "I'm mainly an offshore investor but I've been pumping FAANGS for so long now that I'm just going to change it and go back to Prosus and Naspers. I just think that the numbers that we've seen, similar to Netflix and Intel I think the lockdown has just put IT onto a different plain and I think this is going to continue"

Nolwandle Mthombeni from Mergence Investment Managers chose Santam as her stock pick of the day

"My stock pick is Santam, they are a short term insurance provider and they have a steady staple stock to be holding in this environment. They are not as cheap and they haven't fallen as much as the rest. I'm still paying for my premiums and there are no accidents happening on the roads anytime soon, so I think they're largely a safe bet and they've got a strong balance sheet as well which helps."

Kwame Antwi from KOA Capital chose cash as his stock pick of the day.

"Unfortunately I'm gonna have to disappoint you and say no for now, what we've been telling people is if you've got cash stay in cash or possibly on bonds, because bonds will be

supported in the short term. Give yourself a couple of weeks and we'll get more clarity on the direction of the market and you'll be able to put money back to work."

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Alibaba as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Alibaba, they are a Chinese internet company and are really sort of a eBay in China. They've got two platforms, the one is Taobao which is for the small and medium enterprises and Tmall for the bigger enterprises. What they really do is take a fee on every transaction that takes place on their platform and they also generate advertising fees from their platform. The growth rate has been phenomenal and I think one of the positives that we can take out from this crisis is a lot more people will be shopping online rather than going to the malls and that's going to benefit Alibaba going forward as well."

Waldo du Plessis from Nitrogen Fund Managers chose Remgro as his stock pick of the day.

My stock pick right now is Remgro, they are moving forward with the unbundling of the RMH asset which is a currently 28% of their net asset value. RMH is moving to unbundle their shareholding in FirstRand so you're Remgro shareholder you are going to get RMH, the shareholders are at a 28% uptick because RMH trades at 28% discount to its net asset value and then once you get your matches you're going to get FirstRand shares which is another 2-3% and uplift for the investor, so for me Remgro looks cheap at these levels.
