In 1 Corinthians 3:16–23, Paul continues to confront the division and pride of the Corinthian church by reminding them that they are God’s temple, indwelt by His Spirit, and belong to Christ. Rather than boasting in human leaders or their own wisdom, they are called to protect what God is building, humbly examine themselves, and rejoice in all God has given them in Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 3:5-15, Paul continues to redirect our attention from human leaders to God, reminding us that Christ alone is the foundation, God alone gives the growth, and every believer's ministry will one day be tested by Him.

In 1 Corinthians 3:1–4, Paul confronts the Corinthians' spiritual immaturity, showing that although they are in Christ, their jealousy, strife, and divisions reveal they are living more like the world than like Jesus.

In 1 Corinthians 2:6–16, Paul contrasts the wisdom of this age with the wisdom of God, revealing the source of true wisdom, why the world doesn't understand it, how it comes to us, and how we understand it.

In a city captivated by impressive speakers and human wisdom, Paul deliberately made less of himself so people would make much of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 2:1–5, Paul reminds us how he came, what he proclaimed, and why our faith must rest in the power of God rather than the wisdom of men.

In 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, Paul reminds us that the world dismisses the cross and the preaching of Christ as foolish, yet God uses this very message to save His people and leave no room for human boasting.

The Corinthian church was fractured by division, jealousy, and pride because they were being shaped more by the surrounding culture than by the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 1:10–17, Paul reminds us that when we lose sight of Christ, our preferences and pride begin to divide what Jesus died to unite, and that the only cure for fractured relationships is lifting our eyes back to Christ crucified.

In 1 Corinthians 1:4–9, Paul reminds a struggling church that their hope was never found in their own strength, but in the grace of God that saved them, sustains them, and will one day make them blameless in Christ. These verses call us to rest again in the faithfulness of the God who always finishes what He starts.

We begin our study of 1 Corinthians by looking at verses 1–3. Though the Corinthians belonged to Christ, their lives were shaped more by the world than by the gospel. Yet Paul begins not with condemnation, but with grace, reminding them—and us—who we are and what we are called to be in Christ

In Jonah 4, we hear the heart of an angry prophet and see the heart of a loving God. Through loving discipline and probing questions, God exposes Jonah's heart—a man who is happy to receive grace yet struggles to extend it to others. As the book ends with an unanswered question, we're left to consider not only Jonah's response to God's grace, but our own.
