In this 1986 star-studded, musical classic, meek flower shop assistant Seymour (Rick Moranis) pines for co-worker Audrey (Ellen Greene). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's boyfriend, Orin (Steve Martin), to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant.

From Sharon To Spoon River:

A Guided Theatrical Experience in the Historic Sharon Burying Ground

Audience members will follow a tour guide, who will recount tales and history of the venerable cemetery while escorting them to various locations where actors will bring to life, as it were, original stories and selected works from Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters.

The hour-long performance will be followed by a reception on the Sharon Town Green at the Historical Society and Hotchkiss Library. There will be with six tours beginning on the hour starting at 12 noon.

This performance is suitable for all ages. All current local and federal guidelines for social distancing will be followed and attendees will be required to wear a mask. We also ask that you wear comfortable shoes and have the ability to walk through the hilly cemetery and be able to stand for the hour-long performance.

This production is a collaboration of four Sharon, CT nonprofit organizations including the Sharon Playhouse, the Sharon Historical Society, The Historic Sharon Burying Ground, Inc. (Hillside Cemetery) and the Hotchkiss Library.

Please register for a specific entry time. All performances begin at the cemetery entrance on Cemetery Road.
