Not too long ago Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael MEP’s voted in favour of a new EU commission that is pro-Mercosur. This trade deal could have detrimental effects on Irish farmers and the quality of beef being imported to Ireland from these South American countries in the Mercosur area. Farmers have been quite clear in demanding a complete opposition to the deal. Sinn Féin spokesperson on Agriculture, Martin Kenny, stands with our farmers and has repeatedly called to put on record his complete and unequivocal opposition to the Mercosur trade deal. Adrianne is joined here by Martin Kenny TD to explain what this will mean for Irish farmers and consumers, and to encourage people to contact their local councillors and/or TDs expressing their concerns.
