Apple's newly-announced HomePod speaker looked familiar, but we couldn't quite put a finger on it. Until this morning, when an email from Whyd CEO Gilles Poupardin came through, with a single sentence: "Hey Raymond - looks like you nailed it .." The email came along with a screenshot of an article we published last year—about Whyd's voice-controlled speaker, that HomePod bears a striking resemblance to. And the headline? "This voice-controlled speaker looks like something Apple would design.

China's latest mode of public transportation is a bus, tram and train rolled into one. Its maker, Chinese rail transit firm CRRC, is calling it a "smart bus," but it's a lot more than that. Like a train, it's modular and carriages can be added on; but like a bus, it runs on the road. Amazingly, the carriage will follow a preset path and won't need a driver — but it won't need tracks to be laid, either.

The Tesla Model 3 is no Model S, as the electric car manufacturer keeps reminding us, but it's still going to have quite the kick. A leaked document posted May 22 to the Model 3 Owners Club message boards provides Tesla enthusiasts the chance for a side-by-side comparison of the new ride and its older sibling. The main takeaway? The Model 3 will do 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. For comparison, a 2016 Ford Mustang V6 only beats that by .3 seconds.

Google's AlphaGo AI has won over world champion and number one ranked Go player Ke Jie for the second time in a row. Since there's only one match left to play, AlphaGo has clutched the overall win in the mini tournament, held from May 23-27 in Wuzhen, China. The best Ke Jie can hope for now is winning the last match for a 1:2 score. According to DeepMind founder and CEO Demis Hassabis, the AI assessed that Ke Jie played perfectly at some points in the game. Ultimately, it wasn't enough.
