Prezident Brown
Prezident Brown (born Fitz Albert Cotterell) has been called "one of the most interesting cultural dee jays since U-Roy." Emphasizing positive messages, Brown has continued to pioneer his own direction, developing his own approach to dee jaying that he calls "the chanting stylee." Born to a Seventh Day Adventist family in Colonel Ridge, Clarendon, Brown grew up in St. Mary, a small town in the the north coast resort city of Ocrabessa. Although he showed potential as an artist, as a youngster he was forced to leave school in order to support his mother and three sisters after the death of his father. Brown launched his musical career at the age of 14, when he began dee jaying for the Sound King Stereo Mix at the Bamboo lounge. Initially known as Junior Ranking, Brown was dubbed "Slim Brown" by dee jay Nicodemus. When he recorded his debut single, a duet with Chinna, in 1988, Brown was named "Dancehall Doctor." The title "Prezident" was bestowed upon him by the late Jack Ruby, producer of Burning Spear's albums, ""Marcus Garvey," and "Man in the Hills". With Ruby overseeing his recordings, Brown enjoyed such hits as "Rough Road," "Brain Food," and "Roots in the Music." Following Ruby's death in 1988, Brown became involved with producers Delroy Collins, Barry O'Hare, and Stephen Stewart of Grove Music. He switched to Cole's label, Roof International, shortly afterwards, and began performing and emceeing at the Rooftop Club. His most successful period came after resuming his partnership with O'Hare in 1989. In 1995, Brown toured the United Kingdom, promoting his debut album Big, Bad & Talented. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi

The Badda Skat Band is a 4 piece roots reggae band based in St. Petersburg, Florida, which debuted live in November of 2014. However, Badda Skat's journey in music began back in 2000 with a release of numerous tunes online. This eventually led to a collaboration between Jah Roots and Badda Skat which resulted in Badda's debut album GRASS ROOTS. This was later reproduced and remastered in the traditional "dub" format and released as GRASS DUBS. Both are currently available on all digital distribution outlets such as iTunes and Amazon, as well as online streaming outlets like Pandora and Spotify. Badda also recently released a completely self-produced EP entitled MI JACARANDA, which debuted in vinyl format.
More than just a band though, Badda and his team of musicians strive to promote a conscious message in all of the music they perform. Taking their positions with high responsibility, The Badda Skat Band use their original songs to deliver insightful and inspiring lyrics that will leave the audience cheering for more. Already writing and recording new material, the Badda Skat Band has released a brand new EP titled High Grade Reggae, which is available for FREE download via baddaskat.com. Gaining the interest of fans around the US and abroad, Badda Skat has enjoyed opening for various international acts such as Protoje, Kybaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal, Iba Mahr, Collie Buddz, Yellowman, The Original Wailers, Eek-a-Mouse, Black Uhuru, Morgan Heritage, Julian Marley, Gyptian, 311, Less Than Jake, and Matisyahu. In 2017, a nearly sold out crowd packed Jannus Live in St. Petersburg for a reggae show with 4 international headliners, for which The Badda Skat Band was scheduled to open.
