From as far back as I can remember, I had wanted to be an entrepreneur. But I just didn’t know how to get started.

I did a bunch of the wrong things in my attempt to make it happen - I went and got a business degree so that I could get a “real” job, I went to hair school so I had a skill, I tried network marketing to “be in business” but by my mid twenties I was miserable - life just was not turning out how I wanted or expected. I was my own definition of a failure because I wasn’t happy and I hadn’t achieved the success I was looking for.

So what did I do? I decided to take action - I was bound and determined to become the successful entrepreneur I had always dreamed of.

I bought a failing coffee shop. I wouldn’t recommend this as a starting point to get into business..but I found my edge and used it as a launching pad for success.

I realized that I needed to learn to work ON my business instead of IN my business...I couldn’t run around in circles just making the coffee while the business ran itself into the ground.

The road has been bumpy, with both personal and business triumphs and tragedies. But here I stand today - successful and happy!
