Master human-AI collaboration, trust and governance to scale AI episodes

  • Why trust is a key ingredient for AI that transforms

Organisations thriving in the AI era understand that trust is an integral part of turning pilots into demonstrable business growth.

If new AI investments are to meet their goals, it’s essential that CIOs and IT leaders have a precise understanding of what trust means and why it’s so important.

In episode one of a new podcast series, Warren Tucker, Partner and UK Technology Lead at PwC and Kerry Sinclair, EVP of IT at Sage, talk through how organisations can build AI confidence and the changing relationship between human workers and AI.

In the podcast, Sinclair argues that we look for the same qualities in AI models and agents that we expect from human workers; to be capable, reliable and always acting in our interest.

This means matching the brand values of service providers to the organisation’s own values and being able to trust them. Tucker believes that trust enables scaling and becomes even more important as AI agents act on your behalf. This makes security, observability and explainability critical.

The discussion also focuses on the role of human accountability, with Sinclair suggesting that we need to talk about the human in the lead, not the human in the loop. Tucker adds that organisations who drive this through training, adapting and orchestrating workflows around AI are more likely to see performance gains. The organisations that get the most value won’t necessarily be the ones with the smartest agents, but those with the most trusted agents.
