Jenny Oppenheimer is the VP, Head of Marketing at SaveLive. Her exposure to live music came early, when she'd go and see punk bands in Los Angeles as an 11 year old. She's since gone on to have an incredible career in the music and concert industries, having worked at AEG, Live Nation, Nettwerk Music Group and ARTISTdirect to name just a few. When Covid hit and she was furloughed from Live Nation in 2020, Jenny founded Venues For Voting, which matches under-utilized live space with the need for safe and accessible voting locations across America. Now with SaveLive she's helping to provide the tools for independent venues to grow their brand and business.
Not surprisingly, this conversation covers a lot of ground and features a host of great marketing insights!
Mark Muggeridge is the Head of Touring at Chugg Music.
His career in entertainment stretches back decades to when he was working as an actor in Adelaide. It was there he learned about staging, lighting and sound, skills he put to use when he moved to Sydney as a 21-year-old and began helping bands on the pub circuit with their stage production – knowledge he still draws on today, having recently produced Lime Cordiale's 14 Steps to a Better You tour.
His current role at Chugg Music was preceded by more than a decade overseas, during which he worked with festivals and launched a label services business for Australian and American artists looking to inbound into the UK, with a heavy focus on marketing. We talk about it all in this interview, and dive deep into Mark's insights around tour and artist marketing, his work at Chugg Music, and much more...
Dale Ballentine is the Director of Ticketing Operations at Eventim.
He is a two-decade plus veteran of the ticketing world, having also worked with Ticketmaster, Live Nation and Motorsport Tickets.
As part of his role at Eventim, he's managed the ticketing operations for the London, Rio and now Paris Olympics.
And to think, it all started with a job in the box office at his local cinema in Durham in the UK.
We talk about it all in this interview, from Dale's path into events and his encounter with Nelson and Winnie Mandela, to the logistics of overseeing the ticketing for the Olympics and his thoughts on the future of venue access.
Mike Mauer is the VP of Marketing, Data & Technology at SaveLive, and the founder and CEO of concert marketing platform Sparrow.
He got his start in events back in 2008 when he interned at The Webster Theater in Connecticut, and in the years since has worked across companies and venues such as Huka Entertainment, White Oak Music Hall and Stage Right Entertainment, and festivals such as Tortuga, Hogs for the Cause, BeachLife, and many more.
He is an event marketing, advertising and strategy guru with a seemingly endless supply of great insights, many of which he shares in this interview.
For more than two decades, Chamie McCurry has worked with some of the biggest promoters in the world, such as Clear Channel, AEG Presents and, currently, Danny Wimmer Presents, where she is the Chief Marketing Officer. Chamie oversees the marketing for some of North America's largest festivals such as Louder Than Life, Bourbon & Beyond, Sonic Temple and Aftershock, to name just a few. We talk about what it takes to bring those festivals to life in this interview, as well as many other of Chamie's event marketing insights.
