Star Trek has entered its 50th year in our society. For 5 decades, the legendary title has existed in our pop culture lexicon as a series of TV shows, movies, books, videogames, and pizza slicers (look up the Enterprise Pizza Slicer and tell me you don't want one). Like Dungeons & Dragons and calculus, it is a long-lasting staple in nerd culture.
