Slight disclaimer | I’ve had the blessing of walking with Anne in this lifetime since somewhere around 2014 as her Spiritual Business Coach so I am COMPLETELY biased when it comes to Anne’s brilliance.
Yet, just like when I sat in Sacred Conversation with Aga Bera, even having walked with her for so long there was many parts of her spiritual journey that I didn’t know.
I call Anne one of my OG clients and it’s SUCH a blessing to watch her continually rise, evolve and expand.
In this Sacred Conversation Anne Goncalves, a yoga teacher from Denmark, shares her journey from graphic design to yoga, heavily influenced by a friend’s encouragement.
She how her early spiritual awakening at age 13 during confirmation in Denmark, questioning religion led her to find a connection with Buddhism and how this exploration led to taking Buddhist vows at 29 and practicing Buddhism in London.
Later she shifted to yoga and Chinese medicine, integrating physical and spiritual practices.
Disappointed by internal conflicts in Buddhist communities, she now embraces a holistic approach, combining various spiritual and health practices, emphasizing the importance of embodied experiences and discernment in spiritual guidance.
Our conversation explores the importance of discipline and embodiment in spiritual practices. We emphasize the value of committing to a single practice, such as yoga or Kundalini kriya, for deeper understanding. Highlighting the significance of daily meditation and energy work for achieving inner calm.
You’ll hear us discuss the integration of spirituality into business, stressing the need for authenticity and embodied experience. Concluding with reflections on mastery, emphasizing the ongoing journey of learning and the importance of practical, embodied experiences.
We emphasize the importance of continuous learning and growth in mastering a craft, such as yoga teaching. Sharing how true mastery involves remaining a student, being open to new knowledge, and recognizing that one’s understanding can evolve.
We also discuss the development of yin yoga practices, particularly the realization that connective tissue benefits from movement, not just passive stretches.
Finally we talk about how movement, both physical and metaphorical, is crucial for avoiding stagnation and pain, and for staying open to new opportunities and growth.
Big hug and loads of love. xo, Maria Saraphina
