New research from Snapchat has revealed that nearly half of Australians don't have a best friend.
Social researcher and generations expert, Dr Claire Madden, told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "This research that Snapchat did on looking at the state of Australian friendships today found that we still really value friendships, as in the ones where we catch up with people over a meal and build those friendships."
"But it showed that 44% of Australians say they don't have that one best friend, that one priority bond that we might have assumed people have."
"So perhaps we've replaced that with a wider circle of friends that we depend on," Dr Madden continued.
