If either side is able to utilize the rule of law to inflict a blow to their opponents with no repercussions then why would they stop? 

This is an attack on our country that will change America for the worse if it is allowed to continue. Our country will no longer be able to elect whomever they choose if the other side can imprison them. This is a huge step in the wrong direction, this leads to a country with a façade of freedom that hides the uncontested control of the people by the government.
