A month later than billed, Mark, Bas & Kyle are back for our Season Preview, three games into the season. Happy we're there seemed to be the theme of the summer, be it Union in the Bundesliga, Scotland at the Euros, or Bas & Mark at The Eras Tour.
We reflect on the summer that was, a summer of change in and around Union's men's side. We share our thoughts on how that's gone over the first three games and what that holds for the rest of the season.
It'll probably be quite clear that we recorded this on the first day of the international break and released it on the last one, hence not mentioning the heroics from the Women's side in the Pokal. We'll cover that next time. Apologies.

Wilson, Don, Bas, Mark, & Kyle chose to reconvene one last time this season instead of watching the 1./2. Bundesliga Relegation play-off for this episode of Mattuschka's Right Peg.
We look back at the season that was. The highs and lows of a rollercoaster no one could imagine at the beginning of the season. February's Tor des Monats from Paulina Krumbiegel that Mark mentioned can be viewed here (Germany only), and the nominees for April's Kacktor des Monats are here (worldwide).

Klassenerhalt. 1. FC Union Berlin managed to retain their Bundesliga status on goal difference thanks to a 2-1 win over SC Freiburg and results going our way elsewhere. Dave and Kyle give their view from the island, whilst the rest of the crew were at the game and share their feelings from the terraces.
We are also joined towards the end of the episode by Jacob Sweetman from 1. FC Union Berlin to talk about all things women's football at Union. They've had an incredible season so far, having won a league and cup double this season and they have a 2. Frauen-Bundesliga playoff to come.

The new manager bounce lasted about 40 minutes, as 1. FC Union Berlin managed to turn a 2-0 lead away to Köln into a 3-2 defeat. With one final league fixture at home to Europe-chasing SC Freiburg ahead, other than black pudding soup what comes next? We also look back at goalkeepers from our 2004/2005 Regionalliga Nord season, and manage to relate the film La Haine to Union.

Wilson, Don, Bas, Mark, & Kyle are in the studio a week earlier than scheduled for this emergency episode of Mattuschka's Right Peg following the sacking earlier today of 1. FC Union Berlin head coach Nenad Bjelica. We ask how we've ended up in this position and try to look for positives ahead for the final two games of the season and the future that follows.

Like many this season (but hopefully not Scotland on June 23rd - Kyle) Union lost in Stuttgart, however the team bounced back with a superb win against Werder Bremen. We discuss those games, Kyle sheds a tear over Jakub Busk and we look ahead to a tricky run of fixtures over the coming weeks.

Another month has gone, and things appear to be looking up, despite having no right-backs, with our coach settling things on the pitch and starting fights with opposition players off it. We chat about the month that was Union, on and off the park and look ahead to a massive fortnight in the context of this season.
