Wildly Inventive and Sardonic

This retired physician creates a logical sequence of events, all of which arise from a purported discovery of how to activate a person's suicidal center. Woven throughout this briskly told tale are countless witticisms, clever turns of phrase, bon mots, and sardonic observations about life, sex, organized medicine, and the banality of evil. Anymore about the plot of this tale will spoil the read. Suffice to say that this story reads at a brisk pace; it is very enjoyable and only with a slight suspension of disbelief, easily accomplished, all hangs together very well.

Like the works of Michael Crichton, Peter Berczeller has used just enough science to create a plausible reality for the reader in a work of fiction filled with humor around serious themes such as revenge and suicide .
