In our text today we discover that when it comes to dealing with deep hurts… there is NO APP. There is no shortcut. It’s a life long process of healing, learning, growing and repeatedly applying the truth of the Gospel.

In Gen. 39 did Joseph do the right thing? YES! Wouldn’t you expect things to work out great for Joseph? Sure we would - but that’s not always how God works. God is more concerned about building Joseph than building Joseph’s resume.

Nothing is more real to the human experience and the Christian experience than the fact that temptations are a real, consistent, and difficult part of life. It it crucial that you have a method for dealing with temptations whether they are small enough to simply knock you off balance or large enough to try your very soul.

That being said, Genesis devotes 13 chapters, that’s 25% of its content to the life of Joseph.

John Phillips was right when he said, “that reveals to us that God is more concerned with making Saints than making Stars”.

And no saint is given more direct attention in Genesis than Joseph.
