Ruffled some feathers yesterday... Not mad about it. Here’s why:
I see a massively underserved segment of the population.
Blue Ocean. Starving Crowd. PWM (People with money)
AND - that segment is:
Sophisticated
Affluent (relative to internet marketers, anyway)
In a lot of pain
By nature, lives with realistic expectations
Basically, they make perfect clients BUT... there is a caveat (or two) to that because they are also educated, often formally, which means they:
Know how to read (gasp)
Do Diligence
Appreciate and value complete and accurate information
Are trained to look for inconsistencies
Are less interested in your presentation, sales page or webinar and more interested in your answer to the next question.
It’s a starving crowd, which is good.
But it’s a smart crowd, they will purchase the first thing that has the potential to satiate them...
But they’re smart enough to check that it’s not poisonous, first.
What does that mean?
That means you have an advantage if:
You know what you’re talking about and can answer the next question
You know that "I don’t know" or "it depends" is almost always the best response if you don’t have context.
You provide value and have a reliable system for working through problems.
And you’re at a massive disadvantage if:
You have a cookie cutter offer
You have sales people that are not familiar with the expertise of the prospect
You have sales people, admins and employees that are inconsistent with their recommendations or questions
The bigger internet marketing gets...
The more isolated real technicians and experts feel.
Since MOST internet marketers and business coaches aren’t actually good enough to serve these technicians...
It leaves a VERY blue ocean and a VERY hungry crowd to play in.
=)
Food for thought.
Office day with two world class clients in about an hour. See on the other side.
