Message from Sunday Morning the 11th of June. Nathan continued our Risky Business Series. Biblical Stories of faith through people responding to God. This week Nathan shared the big story of the Bible and the importance of seeing Nehemiah through the lens of the cross. God used Nehemiah to build the wall of Jerusalem as a representation of re-fulfilling God's covenant with Israel, though only fully realised through Christ. Nehemiah represents the perseverant servant who relies wholly on God, though does still demonstrate the human condition within the pages of his story.

This week Grant shared with us the story of Moses and how God used a man with flaws, a past, and reservations for His glory. Q&A Panel from Sunday the 21st of May. Simon hosted our Mission Panel, inviting members of our Supported Mission Areas to share their life experiences and how God has been working in their mission spaces. This panel was the fourth and last service of our Focus on May Mission Month. Panel members included; Marg Holahan, Lyn Morris, Steve Pickering, and Julie Iveson.

Questions from the Panel:

• What has been your best and worst experience of travel?
• What is the benefit of used phone cards, stamps and postcards to our Baptist mission work?
• Is cross-cultural mission still necessary?
• How do you know that you are called to go do a cross-cultural mission?
• Does missionary work have to be for life, do short-term mission trips have a place?
• Is mission work only preaching the gospel, what about the countries that define it as illegal?
• Have you ever felt that I can't do this? And how can you keep going?
• There is an uncomfortable reality in the secular marketplace, how would you respond to the colonial under-tones of missionary past?
• How do you deal with the culture change when you arrive in your mission country, and then again when you return to Australia?

Message from Sunday Morning the 14th of May. This message was the third of four of our Focus on May Mission Month. Tim Drough; Pastor at Mayfield Church of Christ, shared on Mark 4:26-29, expressing that God makes things work all by themselves and that his thoughts are higher than ours. Though, we should still be a part of the process of bringing people to Him and trusting that he is working in our lives and the lives of others even if we don't see it.

Nick Hood; Pastoral Care Pastor at Islington Baptist, shared on Acts 1 and 2 and the call to mission, turning the focus off our agendas but to God's calling to us to go to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to all the world.  That we are to be present as saved people, spirit people, a witnessing people, and a together people.

Steve Pickering shared that we should be aware of our thinking that the way we think dictates our attitudes and our attitudes dictate what we do and that is really important. That we all have different experiences and meet others cross-culturally. Encouraging us to respect, listen and realise there is something eternal about everyone as everyone has been made in the image of God.

Message from Sunday Morning the 23rd of April. Nathan shared on The Kindom of God, the nature of it being here but not yet quite yet. Describing how we have hope indwelling within us for the future Kingdom, God on the throne of the new heaven and the new earth. Through Jesus, this Kingdom can be seen through the actions and lives of his followers expressing that we are to be ambassadors for God here on earth now.
