Adams says he's running for mayor as an independent in the general election. In a video posted to social media, he says that the city needs independent leadership. His decision comes a day after a federal judge yesterday dismissed his corruption case for good.  Dr. Christina Greer is a professor of political science at Fordham University in the Bronx.
