Mayor’s Minutes returns to NHL Radio with an all-new segment, where John Hoven joins host Jim ‘Boomer’ Gordon to talk the good, bad, and ugly through 20 games of the LA Kings 2024-25 campaign. Following his hearing with the NHL this afternoon, LA Kings forward Tanner Jeannot has been suspended three games for an illegal check to the head against Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser.

An official league memo via the NHL’s Department of Player Safety also stated:

The incident occurred at 10:36 of the first period [on Thursday, Nov. 7]. Jeannot was assessed a match penalty. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Jeannot will forfeit $41,640.63. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

Without Jeannot for Saturday’s home game against Columbus and their upcoming two-game road trip, the Kings are expected to now recall Sammy Helenius from AHL Ontario, as discussed in the article linked below.
