The Set Peace Podcast

Mayowa Quadri

Listen Later

This week on The Set Peace Podcast, we are joined by Mayowa Quadri, one of the most influential voices in modern football culture and storytelling. His journey didn’t begin with media, cameras, or broadcast studios. It started quietly, at grassroots level where he fell in love with football not just as a sport, but as a culture, a community, and a language.

From university into present day, Mayowa carved out a unique lane in the industry not as an ex-pro, but as someone who understood football through people, identity, creativity, and representation. That perspective has taken him into rooms many never imagined possible.

Today, he is the Head of Brand at VERSUS, a Board Member of the Sports Journalists’ Association, and a Board Member of the Black Collective of Media in Sport. His portfolio stretches across some of the biggest platforms in football and entertainment:

•  Former match-day host for Guinness & Together
•  Former co-host of Wrighty’s House with Ian Wright
•  Founder of the Blue Creative Fund with Chelsea, empowering young creatives
•  Host of the FCM Podcast, shaping conversation around football culture
•  Former DAZN Club World Cup reporter
•  Regular contributor for Premier League Productions
Mayowa’s impact isn’t just professional it’s cultural.

In this episode, Mayowa opens up about navigating the industry as a Black creative, the mental pressures behind visibility and online scrutiny, the responsibility of platforming communities, and how football and love for God can serve as both healing and identity.

His insight into balancing culture, creativity, leadership, and mental health makes this one of the most important conversations we’ve had.

The set peace podcast is about more than football it’s about the people behind it.

Every 2 weeks, we sit down with guests across the game from pros to physios, coaches to players, these are the conversations we all need to hear, in football and in life.

With 45 minutes talking football and 45 minutes on mental health and well-being these conversations are for everyone whether you’re in football or not.
