This stands for Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, Time Bound
When a business or any organisation for that matter wants to do something, it has to be measured for success.
A goal without a timeline and a way of attaining it, is just like taking a warm bath. The effect is not permanent. The power or prayer alone doesn’t heal you, you still need to go see the doctor, take your meds and eat right and exercise and all that. THE SMART measure is to have a specific goal that can be measured for success and the kind of actions that need to be done to attain it and how relevant the goal is to the big picture of the whole organization and most importantly by when it will be done taking into account all the possibilities and limitations that cover it. This is why in the last episode when I talked about Strategic Planning, I stressed the importance of having a TEAM. If you have no team, then you cannot execute and effective SMART MEASURE.
