It’s tough to play two roles at once. If you’re expected to perform your normal business
analysis activities and also function as a Product Owner, those two things
sometimes pull at each other.
If you’re forced to do both, make sure that you and others
are aware of the role you’re playing.
This leads to several other lessons learned including
focusing too much on the “how” and not on the “what” and how to avoid the curse
of knowledge.

Your Homework
Understand in your organization and on your team how far your authority goes. Are you authorized to make decisions? Do you make recommendations and help others decide?
Also, be aware of the need to balance out the more detailed nature of being a Business Analyst versus the bigger picture, business oriented aspects of the Product Owner.
