Christine Makepeace (The Feminine Critique Podcast) is back on the show to talk about editing her recent annual collection of female horror writing.   We also look at the prequel to David Lynch's classic series "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" aswell as cult comic book movie "Scott Pilgrim Vs. A film which also questions who the real monsters are.  We also look at the first collaberation between Jet Li and Luc Besson, while also learning some kick ass acupuncture in "Kiss of the Dragon".

Kim Lo (Tranquil Dreams / Movies and Tea) joins me this week as we take in pair of films stacked with some of the biggest names in Asian cinema.  Kicking things off is the Donnie Yen crime thriller which see's him teaming up with Simon Yam to take down a notorius Triad boss played by the legendry Sammo Hung.  

Next up we have the first film in the "Infernal Affairs" trilogy a film which Martin Scorsese would remake to massive acclaim as "The Departed" while a film many Asian cinema fans felt paled in comparision to the original.   All this plus we look at the issues with modern horror, Kim shares her thoughts on the current rise of podcasting, Lars Von Trier movies and so much more!!

Having spent over three decades writing about Godzilla and Kaiju movies its safe to say that August Ragone knows a thing or two about Godzilla.  For this episode I sat down to chat with the two time Rondo award winner aswell as author of the essential "EIJI TSUBURAYA: MASTER OF MONSTERS" to chat / nerd out over all things Kaiju. From his early beginings on Bob Wilkins "Creature Features" though to his current projects which include hosting movie marathon's for Shout Factory its safe to say he has more than a few things to say about these movies, while we also touch upon the likes of Ultraman and Pacific Rim in what really is jam packed show.

Artist, classic porn historian and obscure cinema fan Robin Bougie joins me for this latest episode as he prepares to celebrate 19 years of the cult cinema zine "Cinema Sewer" now also in its fifth collection through "FAB Press". 

We talk about his journey from its conception to its current cult status.  Robin also talks about his other books the XXX movie poster collections "Graphic Thrills Vol 1&2" and his latest project the "Sugar Spread" colouring book.

February saw the annual celebration of all things small at the "Deadly Doll's House of Horror Nonsense" so Emily is back on the show to discuss a pair of classics which falls under this unusual blogathon theme.   

First up we have Stuart Gordon's killer doll movie appropriately titled "Dolls". We also meet the world's smallest superspy as Weng Weng makes his first appearance as Secret Agent 00 in "For Your Height Only".  

All this plus Emily shares for experiences with creepy dolls, Bond movies and we debate who could be considered the new masters of horror plus much more.

Stephen Palmer (Gweilo Ramblings / Eastern Kicks)joins for this episode as we look at a pair of Asian films which go much deeper than their shock reputations.   First off we sample the youth restoring dumplings of Fruit Chan's full length version of "Dumplings" a film which started as one of the three short films which made up "Three Extremes".  

Next up we look at one of the key films in the expansive filmography of Takashi Miike with "Audition". A film which would give many western audiences the first taste of his work, while for those who watch it blind a certainly memorable finale.

Freelance comic book artist / writer Soo lee (Hysterics / Fight Like A Girl) helps me to kick off 2016 with a double bill from two of the most visually driven directors currently working.   First off is the second collaberation between Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman who give us a rather unique way to get over a break up in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". We also look at the final entry in Park Chan-wook's vengeance trilogy with the much underated "Lady Vengeance".   

All this plus we discuss the current state of the comic book industry and the rise of comic book culture aswell as comparing British and American culture plus much more!!

The LAMB's very own Puppet guy Todd Liebenow (Forgotten Films) joins me for this episode as we look at the more forgotten film genre, the band movie.  First up we have the psychedelic swan song for "The Monkees" who here appear in "Head". We also look at arguably the best Beatles movie "Yellow Submarine" which they only put in a cameo apperence at the end!
