It was a scary moment for roughly 500 MBTA riders Tuesday afternoon when a Blue Line train traveling from Maverick Station to the Aquarium station shut down leaving passengers stuck underground without air conditioning. It took Boston firefighters about an hour to evacuate the passengers through the subway tunnels to safety. According to the MBTA, a 50-year-old broken cable was the cause of the disabled train.
