MC Hawking's Podcore Nerdcast Episode 3.06: MC Frontalot

In this episode of MC Hawking's Podcore Nerdcast, Ken, Len, and Cassie talk about the Joel Dongsteen Twitter bot. Len drops some Science News about an egg-shaped black planet. Ken still hasn't mixed down Len's mic, so there's lots of heavy breathing. For Nathan's Book Nook, Ken tells us about Mike Bockoven's FantasticLand: A Novel. We play a game! Jame's Cocktail Corner: The "Gingito", a ginger beer inspired mojito. Cassie brings us the latest in Dino News, in which paleontologists have found bird fossils in China that may be ancestors of the present-day cassowary. (But we still don't know if dinosaurs quacked like a duck.) Will It Suck: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. And after that we interview MC Frontalot extensively, during which we talk about his upcoming tour, the right way for Ken to talk into his fancy microphone, the mystery of whose idea it was for Front's song I'll Form the Head, old school televisions, and a whole lotta politics. We get Front to rap! Front doesn't remember what his favorite dinosaur was growing up, but now it's the pterodactl (which he wasn't aware is no longer a thing). And at the end, we include MC Hawking's remix of Front's song Mountain Kind!

Recipe: The Gingito

In a pitcher, add:

8-10 crushed mint leaves
1 oz. key lime juice
2 oz. Bacardi 151
2 oz. Spiced Rum (we used Ron de Jeremy
4 bottles (12oz.) of Fever Tree Ginger Beer

Stir well but slowly (so it doesn't fizz up on you), and serve over ice.

Cassie brings the latest in Dino News: glittery feathers found on 120 million-year-old flying dinosaur, a member of the enantiornithines group which we're now calling the tinyshinysaur. We make YT tell us about the time he for reals hacked NASA when he was a wee lad of seventeen, which leads him to explain Frédéric Bastiat's Parable of the Broken Window. On Dropping Science, Len talks about scientists in China who plan to use CRISPR to hack human DNA in an attempt to fight cancer. Also, there's a brand of vape juice called Nerdcore. MC Hawking dials in to the podcast to catch up with the gang. In Everybody Wants to Rule the World, YT proposes making computer security education compulsory, and the gang concurs. We talk about computers, AI, and augmented reality for a while. YT doesn't really have anything in particular to plug right now, but you should follow him on Twitter at @realytcracker, and check him out on BandCamp. MC Hawking dials in again to remind YT about the track they're recording together.
