We live in an age of uncertainty, don’t we? It seems like all of the things that you can really count on – all the things that we are really sure of – are coming unglued. Paul lived in a time of uncertainty, too. If you stop and think about it – his life, his health, his freedom were in constant jeopardy. And yet, in the midst of the uncertainty that swirled around him, Paul wrote these lines with confidence. He says – “And we know ...” This was not an untested hypothesis. What he is about to tell us is absolute truth. Paul was confident of it.
