Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Premier Mark McGowan toured the Kimberly on Monday to see firsthand the true destruction and power of the Fitzroy Crossing floods.

It's estimated 100 homes in the Fitzroy and surrounding areas have been damaged, where those residents have been evacuated to emergency centres.

Mark McGowan told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead that the quality of the evacuation centres are 'not perfect.'

Recovery efforts have begun in the desert town of Fitzroy Crossing, however repairs of the roads and the Fitzroy bridge could take years to fix.
