Getting back to sex after having a baby isn't easy and I would often wondered whether this was 'normal' and whether my sex drive would ever come back. Emotionally and physically I had to learn to love my body again, which wasn't easy and I'm certain that many women feel the same.

Again this is something that is never really spoken about until now...In this episode I have the pleasure of chatting to Becci Murtagh.

Did you know that pelvic floor dysfunction is more common than you may think and the cause is not always related to childbirth?  In this episode I have the pleasure of chatting with Rosi about her pelvic floor dysfunction journey and how you she has continued to exercise.

Let me introduce you to Rosi
'I'm Rosi, I work full-time in Higher Education, and spend most of my spare time doing something related to CrossFit, either training myself or coaching others at the gym, CrossFit DHM, which I co-own. I've always been sporty, but through CrossFit I've developed a passion for health and sharing with others'.

Bonus episode!!

This is the 6th and final episode of the mini series 'Why do you exercise?' where I speak to 6 inspirational women in their 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's about why they exercise and see if age and life experiences have influenced how they train as well as their motivation to train.  

Let me introduce you to Judy who is in her 70's.
'My name is Judy. I am 74, married with 3 boys who are in their 40's.

I have generally done some form of regular exercise since my mid 30's - classes like Step Reebok, Circuit Training and swimming but only started running aged 58 when I joined a running club as a beginner. I found being a member of a club very supportive. I have run 3 marathons aged 64, 65 and 73. 

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at aged 61 and had 2 years of aggressive treatment. At 73, whilst exercising, I experienced chest pain. This was investigated and I had a procedure where a stent was inserted to relieve a significant blockage. 

Now aged 74, I am still exercising regularly  - currently under supervision,  but I am positive about the future and intend to continue to be active. '

Let me introduce you to Denise who is in her 60's.
'My name is Denise. My professional background is as a nurse and midwife. In my 50's I discovered a passion for fitness so qualified as a Personal Trainer specialising in exercise for the older adult. 

Seven years ago I launched a blog now entitled '60 is the new 60'.

In 2015, I was diagnosed with a heart condition that required open heart surgery. Since my surgery I have completed a half marathon and climbed the highest mountains in Great Britain and Ireland.

In November I will be competing in Hyrox, an indoor fitness competition.'

Why do I exercise? is a mini series where I talk to five inspirational women about why they exercise and see if age and life experience has an influence on how they train as well as their motivation to train. The women were asked the exact same questions and listening to their fitness journey's has been fascinating.
