As Marvel Studios continues to roll out the next phase of the MCU, one word has been floating around here at the pod: Mutants. On this week’s episode we thought it might be fun to make our predictions and wish lists for the unveiling of the X-Men IP. We each pick the five characters that we want to see the most for when the x gene finally mutates into the MCU. We have mutants from across teams and and worlds. Welcome to this inaugural episode of Free As A Nerd! And on this first episode, Meanwhile founder and co-host, Frank Maguire jumps into the pod to discuss the most beloved Star Wars characters of all time, Luke Skywalker. And his characterization within the sequel trilogy. 

Over the next 30 minutes, Frank will provide a detailed analysis of Rian Johnson's character development/characterization of Luke Skywalker, zooming out beyond Episode 8 to try and paint a much more accurate road map of the events that led to the sequel trilogy version of the Jedi Master. Frank looks at comics, video games, and extrapolates and speculates. And to cap off the show, Frank drops one of the biggest theories about The Last Jedi that we are fairly confident you have never heard.  How did we miss this!?!? Ahhhh, we can't stop thinking about it now!

On this episode of Meanwhile Back On The Podcast, we are going to examine alternate universe versions of our favorite MCU characters. However, it’s not through some Dr. Strange multiverse shenanigans, or Loki’s mischief, that has afforded us this opportunity, but from even greater powers: Casting Directors. The four of us are jumping into the pod, to break down the actors that were considered for the biggest MCU roles, but through a twist of fate or just flat out disinterest, didn't make it to the screen. Although we aren’t convinced that turning Robert Downey Jr. into Nicolas Cage wouldn’t be the best Loki scheme ever.

Hey guys! It's another watch along commentary track for you, for this edition. Frank, Kristina, and Geoff are sitting down to watch Green Lantern, Starring Ryan Reynolds, Black Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Saarsgard, Tim Robbins, Taika Waititi, and Angela Bassett. 

As two die hard Green Lantern fans, Frank and Geoff kind of have a love hate relationship with this film. Say what you will about it, but it has its moments. We had a lot of fun during this commentary, and made fun of this movie a lot haha.
