We are excited to bring you the second episode in MedFem’s Parenting in Medicine series! Dr. Rekha Ganeshalingam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital, Geelong. Rekha graduated with Honours from the University of Auckland Medical School in New Zealand before making the move to Australia. During her Orthopaedic training, she undertook a year long observership at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Canada. After being awarded her letters, she proceeded to complete a fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Geelong Hospital, a Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital and further training at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.
Rekha holds a public appointment at the University Hospital in Geelong where her practice covers both Adult and Paediatric Orthopaedics. She maintains connections to the Royal Children’s Hospital where she is an Honorary Surgeon. Rekha has an active research interest and continues to be involved in teaching of medical students, junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees.
